Enjoy four days of blissful immersion in nature with three nights of eco-luxury accommodation at the secluded Friendly Beaches Lodge. The walks – with all boat and vehicle transfers inclusive – reach deep into untouched regions of the exquisite Freycinet National Park, the untamed jewel of Tasmania’s East Coast, including the renowned Wineglass Bay.
Our beach-side eco lodge will be a highlight of your stay. Enjoy the best of nature immersion and adventure alongside comfort and dinning in style as you return from a day on the track to your private eco-luxury accommodation.
The lodge is yours alone to enjoy: sharing only with those members of your walking group, and is serviced by our on-site hosts - ready to cater to your every need! The eco-lodge is set in 130 acres of private property surrounded by the Freycinet National Park, is 100 metres from the beach (fall asleep to rolling waves), and is the only building along the entire span of Friendly Beaches: a truly pristine location.
Share locally sourced, lovingly prepared meals and regional wines in great company. Our menu includes fresh local flathead, local oysters, grain-fed beef and excellent fresh local produce and wines, expertly prepared by your two private hosts. Our hosts are passionate about working with seasonal produce and source ingredients in collaboration with locals - be sure to ask them about the produce on your experience!
Day one: Hobart to Friendly Beaches
Leave everyday life behind and depart Hobart for the scenic journey from Hobart to Coles Bay, taking in wide panoramas of the Freycinet Peninsula across Great Oyster Bay. board the Naturaliste in Coles Bay for a spectacular sea cruise down the western length of the Peninsula to Schouten Island, the southernmost part of Freycinet National Park before transferring to the Lodge.
Day two: Exploring the Freycinet Coastline
Rise with the sun for another boat adventure along the Peninsula. Today, choose from one of two amazing day walks, the moderate Coastal walk or the more difficult Mt Graham walk!
Day three: Explore Blue Stone Bay
Explore the fascinating geology of White Water Wall and little Bluestone Bay before climbing to the cliff tops. Journey back to the lodge on foot, following an ancient track through sacred bushland once followed by the Oyster Bay Tribe.
Day four: Return to Hobart rejuvenated
Rise early and head to the beach for morning coffee, or sleep in and watch the bird life outside your bedroom window. After breakfast, you have the option of taking a walk along the fossil-rich ridgeline of Mt Mary and a descent to Saltwater Lagoon or you might wish to read on the beach, take a dip, or do some yoga on our decks.
