Adelaide Hills Food and Wine Day Tour
Small group – maximum 10 people
Day tour including Hahndorf
Just a stone’s throw from Adelaide is the popular Adelaide Hills region, or the ‘Hills’. One of Australia’s best cool climate wine regions, there are more than 40 wineries and an abundance of locally grown food and produce. The cool climate is perfect for producing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
A leisurely start to the day, with pick-up from your Adelaide hotel between 8.30 am and 9 am, sets the mood for a relaxed day out. En-route to the Adelaide Hills, your knowledgeable and friendly driver/guide will make a stop at the Mount Lofty Lookout, which offers sweeping views of Adelaide city and coastline. Leaving Adelaide behind, it’s time to discover the picturesque Adelaide Hills.
Your tour includes visits to the following:
(subject to availability)
2-3 Winery visits (including tastings) may include: Nepenthe Wines, Bird in Hand, Hahndorf Hill Winery or Sidewood Estate.
Woodside Cheese: award-winning Artisan cheeses. Taste a selection of cow and goat milk cheese.
Melba’s Chocolate factory: wander the factory and watch a traditional range of sweets and chocolates being made using heritage equipment.
Beerenberg’s strawberry farm: stop at the farm shop and try delicious jams, sauces and condiments.
Hahndorf: The historic township of Hahndorf is one of the Adelaide Hills’s most famous towns. A strong German flavour can be found throughout Hahndorf, most evident in the smallgoods outlets and German bakeries that line the bustling main street. Enjoy a German ‘Pub’ lunch (choice of meal from Tour menu and a glass of wine or German beer) and some time to take in the delights of this pretty hills town.
