Overview:

Join one or more Anangu artist for a fun introduction to Western Desert Art. Your Anangu Artist and workshop host will provide an introduction to Anangu culture and show how this is expressed in the artworks. Join the artist to complete your own painting, which you can take home as a memento of your experience. Learn about the symbols and painting styles used to create beautiful works of art depicting the Creation time (Tjukurpa) stories. Bringing a touch of something unexpected, colourful and a connection to the experience while celebrating and combining stories of people and places.

Please note transfers are not included. Workshops are conducted outdoors in the Resort area located next to the Maruku Arts Market stall adjacent to the Yulara Town Square (meet 10 mins prior to workshop).

Anangu are traditional Aboriginal people with strong cultural obligations. In the event of ceremonial duties, unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions workshops may be altered, rescheduled or cancelled.
