MUNGO NATIONAL PARK SUNSET TOUR

Overview:

Board an air-conditioned coach and meet your local Barkindji Aboriginal tour guide, who will interpret the flora and fauna of the outback. Enjoy the trip out to Mungo, whilst your guide explains the plants used for bush tucker and bush medicine. Arriving at Mungo National Park Visitors Information Centre that provides information and displays about the park and its natural and cultural heritage. Then meander through the Historic Mungo Woolshed built by Chinese labourers and still stands as it did in 1869. Enjoy dinner at Mungo Lodge in the fully licensed restaurant. After dinner take a short stroll on the boardwalk to the lookout where erosion has formed the spectacular Walls of China a 30km crescent of white sand dunes that were once the shores to the lake. Significant sites of well-preserved middens (campfires), cooking hearths and burial sites are visible. Relax & enjoy the spectacular sunset & watch the many changing colours of the lunettes. Feel the ancient spirits of this special area. Narration from our aboriginal guides on the history and culture of the Barkindji people is provided on the trek home along the Arumpo Road.
