Prairie Hotel

SOUTH AUSTRALIA
FLINDERS RANGES PRAIRIE HOTEL

From the Hotel you enjoy magnificent views of both the Flinders Ranges and the vast red desert plains sweeping toward Lake Torrens. Inside the Hotel you will find great character, charm and creature comforts topped off by superb cuisine.

The Hotel has embraced the old with the new and brought a stunning new dimension to Outback hospitality. In the sleepy township of Parachilna - population seven - the Hotel is creating a quiet revolution in country cuisine. Beyond the corrugated iron roof, stone walls and wooden verandah posts, major refurbishment has created an establishment of world class standards in terms of innovative dining, accommodation and eco-tourism activities without compromising the character of the old pub.

Your hosts are Jane and Ross Fargher. Jane arrived in the area in 1984 and helped her pastoralist husband Ross run the family's Nilpena Station 35 kilometres north of Parachilna. For four generations, before becoming involved in the hospitality industry ,the Fargher family ran sheep and cattle for four generations in the Flinders Ranges.
