FARAWAY BAY BUSH CAMP

Ten years ago when Bruce Ellison, the bush camp's owner, first discovered the protected bay near Cape Londonderry in the Timor Sea, he instantly felt it would make the perfect coastal bush camp. "I was setting up camps for oil exploration companies all around the East Kimberley Diamond Coast so I knew the area well," he says, "but I had never seen such a pristine spot with good access to plenty of sweet spring water."

On the north west corner of the vast Australian continent there is a place so remote you won't find it on any map. So far away we called it FARAWAY BAY, 280 km NW of Kununurra on the Diamond Coast edging the Timor Sea. Restricted air access makes this coastal bush hideaway the ideal getaway place for a relaxing wilderness experience during April to December. Faraway Bay is a unique and remotely situated hideaway offering accommodation for a maximum of 12 guests. Its hospitality and service is second to none. The high standard of meals is always a wonderful surprise for guests with reef fish caught from the bay accompanied by Australian wine and beer. Special diets can be catered for.
